F.A.Q.

I’m an individual (not part of a company), what license should I buy?

Our licenses cover individual and company usages of the font software we sell on ALT.tf. Simply select the ‘YOURSELF’ option in the cart, which covers you up to 1-5 users, and select the XS company size (1-5), and you'll be covered!

I’m a freelancer who is purchasing the font for a client job. What license should I buy?

In this case, you are purchasing the font on the client’s behalf NOT for yourself. All our licenses cover third party usages, so you won’t need to worry about getting a license of your own, unless you wish to purchase a desktop license for future client proposals.
-
At the cart, select the ‘CLIENT/COMPANY’ option and enter their name and VAT number (if they have one) in the box. Make sure that you’re selecting the correct licenses and company size to cover the client or the company you work at. Once selected, head to the checkout and fill in your billing information as usual.

I’m not sure what license I need.

No problem! Please refer to our licensing page and read it thoroughly. If you’re still unsure, we can happily assist you. Please send an email to info@alt-tf.com

When I purchase a font license, who owns the font?

When you purchase a font, you’re purchasing the RIGHT to use it in certain ways. You become a licensee NOT an owner of the font.

Can I use desktop fonts for web?

If you wish to embed a font as text or titles on a web page, you’ll need to purchase a web license. If you wish to create digital images and upload them to a website, then this is covered by a desktop license.

I need an unlimited license.

No problem, we offer a range of different options for our clients when it comes to bespoke font licensing. Drop us an email and one of our team members will get back to you - info@alt-tf.com

Can I supply fonts to a third party, e.g client?

All our font licenses are non-transferable BUT our EULA's include third party usages at no extra cost. What this means is that THE LICENSEE can temporarily allow design studios and freelancers to use the font that they’ve licensed to complete work on their behalf. Once the project has ended the third party, the design studio for example must remove the software from all devices.
-
A design studio or freelancer CANNOT license the font and then class their client as a third party. It only works when the LICENSEE (the one using the font publicly), is the client.

Do you provide a tax invoice with my purchase?

Yes, we do. You’ll get it emailed to you shortly after you have made a purchase. Remember to check your spam or junk folder as it can sometimes end up in there.

Do you offer student discounts?

Yes, we do, 50% off in fact. Email us at info@alt-tf.com with your student ID and we’ll send you a code. Your student ID needs to be in date in order for you to claim.

If a font is updated, will I have access to it in the future?

Yes, we’ll re-upload the font(s) to the store and if you’ve purchased this particular font(s), you’ll get an email with a link to quickly download the new version. Make sure you remove the current one you have before trying to install the new version.

Are there any recurring costs?

No. All of the standard licensing types offered on this website are one-time fees.
